Here you can download the latest version of the Quilt Designer II update. The update version now posted on our site includes all earlier updates.
This service is available to all Husqvarna Viking Quilt Designer II owners with a d-Card Reader/Writer unit, personal d-Card and a personal computer loaded with the d-Card Reader/Writer software, running Windows 98 or Windows 2000. You can alway ask your authorized Husqvarna Viking Dealer to update your Quilt Designer II.

Open Toe Free Motion Spring Foot can now be used:
Set the machine for Sensor Q-foot. Deselect Stitch Width Safety (SET 4) to allow wide stitches when using the new Open Toe Free Motion Spring Foot (optional accessory 413 03 76-45).
Sensor Q-foot setting now available for all stitches
Previously only stitches from the V-menu could be used with the Sensor Q-foot. Now all stitches can be used.
Update Application
The update application now works with both 3D and 4D Embroidery system drivers
Plus the great feature of version 1.4:
Support for 150x150 Do All Quilter's Hoop added
Earlier embroidery units for Quilt Designer II and Designer II (with a light grey hoop release button) will require an upgrade to be able to recognize the new hoop. Please take your embroidery unit to Sue's Bay Area Sewing for information and mechanical update.
Now here's how to get it:
The files for your Husqvarna Viking Designer II are easily accessed. Read through the instructions below before downloading.
- Insert a Personal d-Card in the d-Card Reader/Writer unit. Make sure the unit is connected to an USB port on your computer.
- Click on "Download" below.
- You may choose to "save" the update program to a place on your computer, such as your desktop, however it is more convienent to simply "open" the update program from the website.
- After the update program starts, follow the instructions on the screen.
- Remove the programmable d-Card when the update file successfully has been written to it.
After you have successfully downloaded the update files to your d-card, keep reading below and follow the instructions on How to install the update file to your Designer II.
How to install the update file to your Designer II

- Remove the programmable d-Card you just created with the update program from your d-Card Reader/Writer unit.
- Turn your Designer II OFF. INSERT the programmable d-Card
loaded with the new software version into the d-Card
reader on the machine.
- Push in firmly and HOLD the start/stop button and the
stitch re-start button at the same time. See
illustrations. With both of these buttons firmly
depressed, turn the Designer II ON (A).
- When the memory of the machine is correctly updated
you will see the text "RESTART" on the display.
RELEASE the buttons.
- Turn the machine OFF and REMOVE the d-Card.
- Turn the machine back ON and check the version
number. It can be seen in the lower right corner of the
Welcome menu.
- Download the User's Guide below, and enjoy the new features on your Designer II.

All new functions are explained in the User's Guide update files below. The files include instructions and illustrations. Just click on the pdf download files and print them out and add them to your User's Guide.
You can choose either to open the files temporarily on the server and print them out from there or save them permanently on your own hard drive.
