4D Software Update Version 8.1 9/21/07 The 4D Software 8.1 update is available. Registered 4D Owners may update their software by: Open 4D Open 4D Configure Click Smart Update You can only download updates for your 4D Embroidery System if you have registered your software. If you have not, then please use the Register Button in 4D Configure. If you have recently sent a printed form, there may be a delay before it is possible to access these updates. Click "Search" to find your details in the VSM Software Product Registration database. Some of the features of this 8.1 update are: Split-on-Combine for Multi-Part Hoops Ability to group multiple objects in 4D Design Creator Filmstrip Contour Fill Style for Specialty Fill Areas in 4D Design Creator 4D Organizer ability to send Mult-Part Embroideries 4D Organizer ability to Send Multiple Designs 4D Organizer ability to add Trim Commands PLEASE READ BEFORE INSTALLING UPDATE: Due to the size of this update file and what it changes in your software, we strongly recommend that you SAVE the file to your computer, instead of opening it from Viking's server. Saving it to your desktop is fine, as you can delete it after the update is complete. If you are on a dialup connection, we can give you a CD with the update on it. Anyone is welcome to bring their laptop in and we will run the update for you. Before running the update, CLOSE ALL APPLICATIONS including 4D Organizer and disable all anti-virus programs. REMOVE YOUR DONGLE from the computer. The update will prompt you to install it later. There has been numerous reports of dongles not working properly after the update from those who had left it plugged in. If your Dongle is still not working after the update is completed, you may need to update the Dongle firmware. This utility enables you to update it without having to re-run the update. Download the HASP firmware update SE Owners - If you use the Direct USB Connection with your machine and your 4D does not recognize your SE after the update, you may have to reinstall the drivers for the SE Communicator. To do this, put your 4D Professional or 4D Embroidery installation CD into your computer. When the menu appears, click on "Install Drivers for Windows Vista/XP" and follow the steps.
